Job Overview
Join Kraft Heinz as a Maintenance Fitter and advance your career within Engineering & Maintenance at a leading global FMCG company. This position offers full-time opportunities on both day and rotating shifts at our Tomoana facility in Hastings, New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact on-shift for urgent maintenance breakdowns on all production lines, responding promptly to resolve issues.
- Diagnose and repair faults related to mechanical systems, air, hydraulics, and electrical systems where licensed.
- Evaluate and prioritize maintenance tasks based on production impact, food safety concerns, and urgency, escalating complex or high-risk problems as necessary.
- Provide maintenance support across various departments and cover for team members when required.
- Complete scheduled maintenance duties and contribute to maintenance during weekends and planned shutdowns.
- Identify potential equipment risks and recurring failures; suggest improvements to enhance reliability.
- Adhere strictly to lockout/isolation procedures, permits, food safety standards, and housekeeping requirements.
- Communicate effectively with different teams, perform comprehensive shift handovers, coach operators, and maintain accurate records in the maintenance system.
Candidate Profile
- Must hold a NZQA Level 4 Mechanical Trade Certificate such as Fitter/Turner or Mechanical Engineering.
- Possession of a Limited Electrical License is advantageous.
- Experience as a seamer technician in the pet food sector is preferred.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical tools, sensors, and machine timing is essential.
- Background in FMCG or high-speed food manufacturing environments.
- Strong capability in problem-solving and fault-finding.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, suitable for all organizational levels.
- A collaborative team player with self-motivation and keen attention to detail.
- Committed to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to work off-shift hours, weekends, and respond to call-ins as business needs dictate.

Work Environment
