Overview
Player 15 Group manages major sports franchises including the NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, Valley Suns (G League), and Mortgage Matchup Center. Role Summary
We seek a motivated and experienced Arena Technology Operations Manager responsible for leading all aspects of engineering support, maintenance, repairs, and special projects within the arena technology department. This role is pivotal in department-wide initiatives, overseeing technology projects and managing staff operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a specialized team of Technology Support Engineers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to diverse team members to promote high performance and job satisfaction.
- Collaborate daily with leadership to enhance cross-functional efficiency and operational excellence.
- Support and advocate for a highly technical staff; technical proficiency can be acquired over time with willingness to learn.
- Adjust work hours to accommodate nights and weekends as manager on duty during events.
- Utilize project management expertise to direct capital construction, equipment installations, and process improvements.
- Manage the department's project management system including project plans, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Lead major technology projects from start to finish, delegating smaller tasks appropriately.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project goals and mitigate risks.
- Oversee asset management including inventory, routine maintenance, and equipment lifecycle planning.
- Apply rigorous maintenance procedures to support over 150 live events annually.
- Collaborate with the Director of Arena Technology to maintain a phased and budgeted equipment replacement strategy.
- Work with Technology Services stakeholders to implement asset management protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills Required
- Strong organizational, collaborative, and communication skills.
- Empathetic, people-first leadership approach.
- Experience managing teams of five or more in dynamic environments.
- Capability to independently plan and execute projects.
- Track record developing, documenting, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Proficient in leveraging metrics and data to oversee technology projects.
- Experience with project management software like Monday.com or similar tools.
- Ability to define and execute project scope, deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
- Background in technology and operational settings.
- Familiarity with budget oversight and technology lifecycle management.
- Effective and timely problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of control room operations, broadcast technology, systems/network administration, and live audio and lighting systems.
- College degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Certifications such as CAPM, PMP, Q-Sys, or Dante are highly desirable.
- Minimum two years in leadership roles with multiple direct reports.
- At least two years managing technical projects independently, demonstrating capability to plan and complete projects.
