About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPM), Jigs & Fixtures, and industrial automation equipment. Situated in IMT Manesar, Gurugram, this engineering and automation company values professionals with expertise in machine design, 3D modeling, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs for Special Purpose Machines, jigs, fixtures, and automation systems.
- Develop comprehensive 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Innovate machine concepts based on customer requirements and manufacturing protocols.
- Select appropriate mechanical parts, including pneumatic cylinders, sensors, motors, bearings, and gearboxes.
- Coordinate effectively with customers, vendors, production, fabrication, machining, and assembly teams.
- Provide support for machining, fabrication, assembly, machine trials, and testing phases.
- Troubleshoot design-related challenges encountered during manufacturing and project implementation.
- Manage assigned projects independently from concept to completion.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and securing final customer approval as needed.
- Maintain and update project drawings, revision logs, engineering documentation, and technical files.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in SPM design, jigs and fixtures, automation machine design, or industrial equipment design.
- Proficient with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
- Good knowledge of machining, fabrication processes, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance management.
- Experience preparing manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and machine assembly documents.
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute projects from concept through to commissioning.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

The role demands close collaboration with multiple teams and ability to handle machine trials and customer interaction during the installation phase.
Compensation
The monthly remuneration ranges between INR 30,000 and INR 45,000.
