Role overview
This position sits within a fast-growing engineering consultancy that delivers capital projects for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device clients. It is well suited to a Mechanical Engineer who has already handled project coordination or project management responsibilities and wants to continue building a career in a tightly controlled, regulated setting.
What you will do
- Help plan, coordinate, and drive mechanical engineering projects from the early design phase through commissioning and final handover.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to keep milestones and deliverables on track.
- Support project schedules, resource allocation, status updates, and risk tracking.
- Coordinate mechanical engineering work such as design checks, equipment specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning assistance.
- Manage delivery of mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, clean utilities, and building services in regulated production environments.
- Assist with FAT, SAT, commissioning, and start-up activities while helping ensure safe delivery, on-time completion, and budget control.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or industrial project settings.
- Prior involvement in coordinating mechanical projects, engineering packages, or client-facing engineering tasks is important.
- Exposure to mechanical systems such as HVAC, clean utilities, process piping, or building services is an advantage.
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
