Job Overview

The role of New Product Development Specialist focuses on managing the full lifecycle of product creation, from initial concepts to market launch. This position demands close collaboration with diverse teams, oversight of scheduling, optimization of formulas and packaging, and ensuring product compliance with all relevant regulations. Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and track timelines for product launches, ensuring all deadlines are achieved.
• Lead cross-departmental teams—including operations, procurement, and creative—through the entire product development process to commercialization.
• Conduct weekly progress meetings and update schedules accordingly.
• Alert senior management promptly of any obstacles and aid in resolving them.
• Assist team members as needed with various tasks.
• Create packaging briefs and oversee artwork revisions for both new products and formulation improvements.
• Handle regulatory approvals related to packaging and formulations.
• Maintain daily communication with contract manufacturers to guarantee smooth production schedules and timely product launches.
• Support the director with formula assessments, including shade development, ensuring compliance, texture, and performance standards.
• Coordinate clinical testing conducted by third parties.
• Develop and oversee a system for tracking samples and collecting stakeholder feedback; assist with lab communications and final sample endorsements.
• Maintain accurate product-related databases accessible to internal and external teams.

Additional Duties

• Ensure all products, new and existing, comply with regulatory frameworks and industry guidelines by collaborating closely with an external regulatory agency.
• Support competitive market research and product development briefing alongside the director.
• Stay abreast of evolving trends in color cosmetics, skincare, and personal care sectors by attending relevant industry events when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrated strong project management capabilities, experience with Monday.com or comparable tools preferred.
• Two to three years’ experience in new product development or project management within cosmetics, beauty, or consumer packaged goods sectors; passion for beauty products advantageous but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific disciplines preferred but not essential.
• Excellent teamwork and problem-solving aptitude combined with a proactive mindset.
• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities across multiple projects efficiently.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office and capable of maintaining complex spreadsheets.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with numerous annual product launches.
• Flexible and capable of thriving in a hybrid work model balancing in-office and remote tasks.
