Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Support Worker to join us on a fixed 1-year contract, working part-time hours (up to 20 hours weekly), primarily during weekdays and evenings in Celbridge, County Kildare. This position focuses on providing individualized, person-centred assistance to a person living with autism, ensuring high-quality, rights-based support that fosters autonomy, inclusion, well-being, and active participation within the community, adhering to the New Directions framework.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one support tailored to the individual’s strengths and needs.
- Encourage engagement in meaningful activities and community involvement aligned with New Directions principles.
- Promote the individual's independence, dignity, choice, and self-determination.
- Support emotional health and consistent daily routines respectfully.
- Effectively communicate with the individual, their family, and professionals involved in care.
- Accurately maintain records as required by service standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism.
- A solid understanding of person-centred approaches.
- A calm, respectful, and empathetic manner.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
- Strong skills in communication and interpersonal relations.
- Reliability and flexibility to work within agreed hours.
- Possession of a full driver's license and access to transport, if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in social care, healthcare, or related fields are advantageous.
