About the Role

About Fresh is looking for a People & Operations Manager who will act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, ensuring the organization's values-driven culture and effective HR functions are deeply integrated across the nonprofit. This role handles the entire employee journey from hiring and onboarding to performance management, while also managing internal operations, executive assistance, and board relations for a fully remote, nationally dispersed team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to translate strategic visions into effective people operations and a vibrant values-based culture.
  • Lead the creation and management of annual performance review processes and broader performance management systems.
  • Manage the relationship with Justworks PEO, ensuring compliance with employment laws across states where staff reside.
  • Maintain and update employee resources including the handbook, training programs, and internal knowledge bases.
  • Facilitate professional growth by identifying training opportunities, recommending tools, and overseeing associated budgets.
  • Organize in-person team meetings and retreats to foster connection.
  • Optimize onboarding and offboarding workflows.
  • Design and analyze employee engagement and satisfaction surveys regularly.
  • Implement and manage productivity tools and processes, integrating emerging technologies such as AI where appropriate.
