PR & Communications Associate - Contractor

About the Role

We are seeking a PR & Communications Associate to join our team remotely on a contractor basis, specializing in the cryptocurrency, ICO, and airdrop sectors. The role entails handling various communication and public relations tasks to promote our products and expertise to the media and public.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage media relations by pitching company products, articles, and thought leadership pieces to journalists.
• Secure company quotes and commentary for news features, particularly related to market, macroeconomic, and crypto trends.
• Position the company's data as a reliable source for market price actions, caps, and trend information among reporters.
• Monitor daily macroeconomic and market news to identify opportunities for reactive news engagement.
• Develop and maintain media lists and a contacts database/CRM system.
• Identify and pitch suitable company spokespeople for speaking slots at conferences and other industry events.
• Track relevant event calendars and submission deadlines for speaking opportunities.
• Provide logistical assistance and briefing preparation for confirmed speaking engagements.
• Pitch and secure appearances on podcasts, TV shows, and online media platforms targeting top-tier, crypto-specific, and independent outlets.
• Establish and nurture relationships with show bookers and producers.
• Draft and edit press releases and announcements, handle distribution, embargoes, and manage the press inbox and inbound inquiries.
• Translate proprietary data into engaging stories, reports, and data points to support media pitches.
• Monitor media coverage by tracking mentions and compiling clip reports, share-of-voice analysis, and basic KPI reports.
• Support spokespeople by preparing talking points, briefing documents, and Q&A material.
• Identify and submit nominations for awards and rankings relevant to the company.
• Collaborate across teams including marketing, social media, research, and product for integrated earned media amplification.
• Assist senior leadership with crisis communication and rapid response to sensitive or breaking news.

Requirements

• Between one and two years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or media, whether agency or in-house.
• Excellent command of written English, with the ability to produce pitches and press releases efficiently.
• A sincere interest in cryptocurrency, Web3 technologies, fintech, and financial markets.
• Comfortable monitoring news around the clock in the fast-moving market environment.
• Highly organized and proactive with the capability to manage multiple pitches and deadlines simultaneously.
• Preferred qualifications include established media or podcast contacts, proficiency in additional languages, and strong data literacy.
• Capable of working remotely and independently.
