About the Role and Organization
PolicyBazaar is India's top insurance marketplace aimed at making financial safety accessible to over a billion families. With significant backing from renowned investors and a massive yearly visitor base, the company leads in life and health insurance sales through digital channels, holding a significant market share. This position, situated in Hyderabad, is within the Learning & Development team focused on the Life Insurance segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive induction and new hire training sessions covering core insurance principles, company products, systems, and workflows.
- Perform targeted refresher and upskilling trainings by identifying process gaps, auditing accuracy, and providing floor support to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Deliver training on regulatory compliance including IRDAI guidelines, anti-money laundering, data privacy, and ethical selling standards.
- Develop and regularly update various training materials such as manuals, SOPs, presentations, process maps, job aids, and assessments.
- Simplify complex life insurance product details like Term Plans, ULIPs, Endowments, Annuities, Riders into clear training content.
- Maintain training materials reflecting changes from product updates, underwriting adjustments, and system enhancements.
- Design and administer Process Knowledge Tests and certification exams to assess and certify learner readiness prior to floor deployment.
- Support new hires during on-the-job training phases with coaching, monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through metrics like batch learning progression, PKT scores, first contact resolution, and operational accuracy.
Qualifications and Desired Expertise
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
- Professional insurance certifications or adult education qualifications are advantageous.
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience as a Process Trainer specifically within the Life Insurance sector, including insurtech, third-party administration, BPOs, or direct insurers.
- In-depth familiarity with life insurance processes such as pre-underwriting, policy issuance, underwriting guidelines, servicing, claims (death, critical illness, surrender), persistency, and renewals.
- Excellent facilitation capabilities including presentation, public speaking, and classroom control in both physical and virtual settings.
Success Metrics
- High percentage of trainees passing certification tests on first attempt.
- Low operational error rates and strong quality performance during new hire nesting periods.
- Consistently strong process knowledge test scores post-training.
