Exide Energy Solutions Limited is among the company’s fastest-expanding businesses, focused on addressing energy, environmental, and resource-related challenges through lithium-ion battery manufacturing. The company is establishing India’s first Giga plant for lithium-ion cell production in Bengaluru.
Role Overview
The organization is hiring a Production Planning & Control professional for its manufacturing setup at Devanahalli, Bengaluru. This role sits within the manufacturing team and supports production planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution to help achieve business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Create both short-range and long-range production plans using demand projections and available capacity.
- Ensure planning aligns with delivery commitments, business objectives, and operational readiness.
- Work closely with Sales and Dispatch teams to support timely order fulfillment.
- Run MRP activities in SAP and manage PIRs for semi-finished and finished goods.
- Track the availability of raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials in a timely manner.
- Keep inventory at healthy levels to prevent shortages as well as unnecessary surplus.
- Plan procurement of PPE, consumables, and process-related materials.
- Assess machine, manpower, and plant capacity and improve utilization where possible.
- Translate MRP outputs into production and process orders.
- Prepare daily and shift-wise schedules based on material readiness and available capacity.
- Assist with NPI activities, trial runs, and production ramp-up.
- Follow up on production progress and ensure work orders are completed on time.
- Serve as the coordination point between PPC and the shop floor to maintain schedule compliance.
- Address production bottlenecks, equipment issues, and manpower gaps in real time.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to keep operations running smoothly.
- Review plan-versus-actual results and monitor adherence to schedules.
- Prepare MIS reports and study production deviations.
- Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
- Track key KPIs such as inventory, capacity, material availability, and accuracy.
- Maintain ERP master data including BOMs, routings, and work centres.
- Ensure documentation, approvals, and revision control are properly maintained.
- Comply with safety, quality, and audit requirements.
- Help strengthen planning systems so the plant can scale efficiently as the business grows.
- Contribute to operational efficiency and overall plant readiness.
Experience and Qualification
Candidates should have 6 to 15 years of relevant experience and hold a B.E. or B.Tech degree.
