LAI Group is a major Australian manufacturer of switchboards and switchrooms, backed by more than 115 years of combined industry experience. The business specialises in designing and building custom switchboards and switchrooms and is expanding nationally. This opening is based at the Adelaide head office in Ferryden Park, within the Skids division.

Role summary
The Production Scheduler will own the creation, upkeep, and coordination of the master production schedule for the Skid Division. Working alongside the Skid Project Manager and other teams, this role keeps manufacturing, purchasing, testing, commissioning, and delivery activities aligned so projects are executed successfully.
Working arrangement
- Full-time role
- 38-hour work week, Monday to Friday, plus reasonable overtime
- Salary is negotiable and will reflect experience, knowledge, and capability
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain production schedules that support on-time delivery of skid projects.
- Coordinate work across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and delivery functions.
- Track progress against milestones, identify scheduling risks and capacity constraints, and take corrective action where needed.
- Organise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and customer inspections to keep projects ready for handover and delivery commitments.
- Prepare regular schedule updates, progress reports, and forecasting information for internal teams and clients.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in production planning and scheduling systems and practices.
Candidate profile
The right person will be highly organised, detail-focused, and confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Desired experience and capability
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Project, Excel, and the broader Microsoft Office suite for building, maintaining, and reporting on complex schedules.
- Background in Production Scheduling, Project Scheduling, or Project Coordination.
- Good understanding of project planning, critical path methods (CPM), resource allocation, milestone tracking, and schedule forecasting.
- Experience in switchboard manufacturing, engineering, modular skid construction, industrial, mining, oil and gas, electrical infrastructure, or similar project-led environments.
- Exposure to FAT and SAT processes and other testing/commissioning activities is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing management systems and project reporting processes is preferred.
