About the Role
The South Carolina Department of Education is dedicated to serving students, supporting teachers, empowering parents, and engaging the community to ensure every student graduates ready to achieve their full potential. The Program Coordinator II position, based in the Office of VirtualSC, operates under general supervision to manage course maintenance issues, coordinate stakeholder communications, handle procurement and licensing of instructional materials, and uphold course and catalog documentation compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage responses and resolutions related to course maintenance by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee purchasing, licensing, and renewal activities for instructional materials and design tools utilized in the VirtualSC program.
- Organize, plan, and deliver technology training sessions to support VirtualSC faculty and staff in efficiently using program resources and instructional tools.
- Maintain accurate, current, and compliant documentation for VirtualSC courses and the course catalog.
- Engage in professional development to continually refine skills related to program coordination, resource management, and administrative operations.
- Execute special projects and research directed by the Curriculum Team Lead, preparing reports and recommendations accordingly.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor's degree with relevant program experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Business Administration, Communications, or related disciplines.
- At least three years of experience in project coordination, educational operations, academic program support, instructional technology, curriculum support, or similar fields.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously while balancing competing deadlines.
- Experience supporting K-12 online or virtual learning environments.
- Familiarity with course maintenance, curriculum updates, instructional resource coordination, licensing processes, vendor management, and educational technology deployment.
- Experience delivering professional development and training to educators and staff.
- Skilled in maintaining program documentation, procedures, course catalogs, and compliance-related records.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with diverse stakeholders including educators, vendors, staff, and leadership.
- Proficient with office productivity software, learning management systems, instructional technologies, and other educational tech tools.
- Highly organized with strong administrative capabilities, including accurate record-keeping and workflow management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing reports, documentation, and training materials independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of digital instructional resources, accessibility standards, and best practices in online learning.
