Programme Leader - School Holiday Programme - Lower Hutt

About the Role

This is a fixed-term role based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, offering 40 hours weekly during a two-week period coinciding with school holidays (Monday to Friday). As a Programme Leader, you will oversee a team of support workers dedicated to providing a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children with intellectual disabilities during holiday periods. Your leadership will be vital in facilitating meaningful activities and ensuring all children participate actively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of support workers to deliver fun and inclusive school holiday programmes.
• Create and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy space catering to children with intellectual disabilities.
• Facilitate structured activities that focus on personal outcomes for each child.
• Handle administrative tasks and resource management for the programme.
• Coach and support your team to perform effectively.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a full New Zealand driver's licence.
• Capability to pass NZ police and Oranga Tamariki background checks.
• Interest in achieving a Community Support Worker Level Three or higher qualification, with support offered to gain this during employment.
• Prior experience caring for children with disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong team player with effective leadership and communication skills.
• Adeptness at delivering structured curricula focused on individual outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

• The position pays an hourly wage between $23.97 and $29.68, plus allowances.
• Offers flexible after-school shifts.
