About the Role

Rehab Enterprises are seeking a Programmes Facilitator based at the Castlebar Resource Centre, County Mayo. The position supports independent living and community integration by facilitating educational, developmental, recreational, and occupational programmes tailored to individual service user needs and capabilities. The role requires developing and implementing programmes that enable clients to reach their full potential in suitable settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key worker, guiding Person Centred Planning to identify goals and necessary supports for service users and maintaining records accordingly.
  • Create and deliver person-centred programmes aligned with users’ goals and document progress.
  • Facilitate individual and group access to community activities in accordance with service user needs and aspirations.
  • Work independently as a lone worker while collaborating with team members, external agencies, and families to uphold high service standards.
  • Adhere to all RehabCare policies, procedures, and administrative rules.
  • Promote independence and community inclusion by engaging with local community personnel.
  • Comply proactively with health and safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards, ensuring client transport safety.
  • Maintain respectful, professional interactions with service users and report concerns as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 in Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • A third-level degree in Health & Social Care or related field is preferred.
  • At least one year experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Experience in facilitating and implementing person-centred plans, developing programmes addressing independent living skills and community integration, including lone working contexts aligned with New Directions.
  • Familiarity supporting adults with Autism, Mental Health issues, physical disabilities, and non-verbal communication needs.
  • Interest in services catering to mental health diagnoses.
  • Knowledge and adherence to health, safety, and hygiene practices in service settings.
  • Promotion of self-advocacy among service users.
  • Possession of a full driving license with minimum two years' driving experience is desirable.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings to meet service needs.
  • Experience supporting service users in obtaining work opportunities is advantageous.
