Role Overview

This Project Manager position supports research programs within the Department of Medicine's MeDic unit, focusing on endocrinology, oncology, bone biology, and tumor-host interaction studies, including projects on PTHrP biology, hypercalcemia of malignancy, skeletal metastasis, pancreatic and breast cancer, and associated therapeutic and biomarker investigations.

Reporting to co-directors Dr. Richard Kremer and Dr. Catalin Mihalcioiu of the Liquid Biopsy Center, the incumbent will coordinate research endeavors, manage scientific writing, project operations, and facilitate communication among academic, clinical, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee daily research operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans with timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress to preempt and address risks or delays.
  • Coordinate meetings, document agendas, minutes, and action items.
  • Foster collaboration across interdisciplinary teams and external organizations.
  • Manage grant applications, reports, manuscripts, and publication processes including formatting, submission, and reviewer communications.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, ethics, regulatory standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate budgets, expenses, purchasing, and liaise with finance and administrative departments.
  • Serve as liaison among principal investigators, staff, collaborators, and administrative teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in health sciences, biomedical sciences, life sciences, or related fields; PhD or postdoctoral experience preferred.
  • Alternatively, bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience in academic or healthcare research management.
  • Prior experience in university, hospital research institutes, or similar academic medical environments.
  • Strong scientific writing, editing, and grant/manuscript management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with capacity to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in French and English, both oral and written, to manage complex communications within diverse research teams.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, project tracking tools, reference management software, and budgeting systems.
  • Knowledge of research compliance including ethics approvals, biosafety, animal/human protocols, and institutional finance procedures.
