About the Company

We seek an experienced Purchase and Vendor Development Manager to independently handle procurement and vendor relations, enabling leadership to prioritize business expansion.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Source and onboard new manufacturers and suppliers, especially across Surat and other textile hubs.
  • Establish and maintain a dependable supplier base for various product categories including textiles and packaging.
  • Conduct supplier audits and factory visits to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment conditions, minimum order quantities, and production timelines with vendors.
  • Issue purchase orders and oversee order fulfillment and cost management.
  • Coordinate production schedules, sampling approvals, and resolve delays to ensure timely export readiness.
  • Verify product quality against buyer specifications through inspections and proactive quality management to lower rejection rates.
  • Plan purchases in alignment with sales forecasts and dispatch schedules, maintaining detailed procurement and vendor performance reports.
  • Build and sustain productive, long-term supplier relationships, efficiently resolving any disputes.
  • Evaluate supplier performance metrics including quality, pricing, and reliability.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in textile procurement or sourcing, ideally with ethnic wear or garment products.
  • Extensive vendor network in Surat and adjacent textile markets.
  • Experience collaborating with export houses is advantageous.
  • Expertise in commercial negotiation, textile product knowledge, fabric quality assessment, and vendor development.
