About the Role
This opening is for a QA Engineer based in Canada, offered through a partner company managing the recruitment process. The chosen candidate will enhance software quality for both web and mobile applications within a fast-expanding technological environment. This role emphasizes embedding dependable testing practices throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure products meet stringent standards for performance and user experience.
The QA Engineer will work collaboratively with developers, delivery teams, and various stakeholders to identify potential risks, elevate testing processes, and deliver robust software solutions. The role provides a chance to directly influence the development of innovative digital products in an international and dynamic setting, taking ownership of test planning, execution, documentation, and ongoing quality improvements within an agile framework.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, perform, and enhance functional and non-functional testing, including integration, regression, and usability assessments for web and mobile platforms.
- Detect, document, track, and communicate software defects effectively, partnering with development teams to resolve issues.
- Validate bug fixes ensuring features comply with technical and business requirements.
- Develop, update, and utilize detailed test plans, suites, checklists, and other testing documentation.
- Interpret product features and requirements to establish appropriate testing strategies.
- Monitor quality assurance metrics and aid in refining testing processes.
- Partner with developers, delivery managers, and cross-functional teams to maintain quality throughout the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to QA methodology improvements and continuous enhancement initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3 to 4 years of manual QA testing experience, ideally in FinTech, banking, iGaming, or other environments with high transaction volumes.
- Proven expertise in testing web applications alongside a solid understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation.
- Strong grounding in QA methodologies, processes, and best practices.
- Experience using Git and managing version control workflows.
- Familiarity with Python, Playwright, Docker, and Kubernetes is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective collaboration capabilities with both engineering and business teams.
- Proficiency in Russian and intermediate communication skills in English.
