Overview
Brightshores Health System is recruiting a full-time Research Coordinator for its Office of Research & Innovation (ORI), located in Owen Sound. ORI focuses on advancing health and wellness in rural areas by developing and integrating innovative strategies to improve patient care and healthcare provider experience. This temporary position, ending approximately in August 2027, reports to the Director of Research & Innovation and involves managing research and innovation projects— including clinical trials—throughout their entire lifecycle while ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee research and innovation projects from initiation to completion and archiving, maintaining adherence to study protocols and regulatory guidelines such as ICH GCP and Health Canada Division 5.
- Assist in project preparation, activation, and submissions; participant recruitment and screening; data collection and recording; and monitoring study compliance.
- Manage daily project operations, report adverse events, facilitate training and communication among investigators and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and review of policies and standard operating procedures governing research activities.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in related disciplines such as health science or public health.
- Postgraduate diploma or certification in Clinical Research is advantageous.
- At least three years of experience in healthcare innovation, research project management, or clinical research with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements including ICH-GCP and N2’s SOPs.
- Certifications such as SOCRA or CCRP are assets.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute projects within strict deadlines.
- Experience in change management, quality improvement, problem-solving, multitasking, and leadership.
- Strong team collaboration skills and capability to work independently.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and familiarity with research documentation systems.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and judgment skills; initiative-driven.
- Valid G class driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel among hospital sites.
