Job Overview
The Safety Coordinator will support construction projects, focusing on enforcing and maintaining safety standards across client construction assignments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Safety Supervisor in crafting, managing, and implementing job site safety programs within the Construction Department.
- Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions promptly.
- Lead accident investigations to prevent future incidents and compile detailed reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety violations using notes, images, and video recordings.
- Perform regular audits to monitor safety compliance in all construction activities.
- Help identify and investigate unsafe conditions and acts, recording incidents including injuries and fatalities.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations by inspecting work areas, equipment, and conditions.
- Collaborate with contractors and other construction managers to resolve safety concerns and provide safety training to engineers and inspectors.
- Confirm the readiness and proper use of accident prevention protocols, safety gear, personal protective equipment (PPE), fire prevention equipment, and first aid supplies.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, preferably with a focus on health and safety.
- At least five years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficient communication skills in both spoken and written English.
- Capability to conduct safety, CPR, and first aid training sessions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and cooperate effectively with construction staff and contractors.
- Provide expert safety support throughout construction phases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer proficiency with the capability to use current safety software.
- Possession of OSHA 10 certification or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
