About NT Concepts and the Role

As a Scrum Master, you will support the Department of Defense's Military Housing System, a sophisticated platform composed of 34 web-based modules serving over 10,000 active users and providing housing services for more than 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.
This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and offers remote flexibility with the primary work location in Vienna, VA. You will facilitate Agile delivery within a Navy on-premise environment, ensuring effective Scrum practices while adhering to DoD compliance and security standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) across one or more Agile teams.
- Organize and coordinate Scrum processes to enhance team efficiency and delivery.
- Monitor sprint progress, track team commitments, and communicate delivery metrics utilizing Agile tools.
- Recognize and eliminate obstacles blocking team progress, escalating issues when necessary.
- Assist the Product Owner in managing a well-prepared, visible product backlog ready for sprint planning.
- Act as a communication bridge between developers and stakeholders to maintain alignment on priorities and expectations.
- Promote Agile best practices and drive ongoing team performance improvements.
- Stay informed about IT development activities and relevant business needs.
- Ensure compliance with Navy, DoD, and internal organizational policies alongside Agile delivery.
Qualifications
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance at the start date.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
- At least three years of professional experience in Scrum Master roles or similar Agile facilitation positions.
- Possession of Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or an equivalent Agile certification.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification or an equivalent DoD 8140-compliant certification is required or must be obtainable within six months.
- Hands-on expertise in facilitating all Scrum ceremonies in Agile environments.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams working cohesively.
- An understanding of Agile methodologies and project management fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams for documentation and communication purposes.
- Reliable, punctual, and well-prepared with a commitment to arrive on time or earlier for meetings and ceremonies.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with government or enterprise software development projects.
- Familiarity with Navy or DoD IT architectures and on-premise system environments.
- Proficiency with Agile software tools such as Jira or comparable applications for backlog and sprint management.
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of desk work involving computer usage.
- Capability to occasionally lift 10-15 pounds.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $96,600 to $144,900 annually, with the final amount depending on multiple factors including location, education, and experience, as well as contractual and organizational considerations.
