Position Overview
Our client, a well-established entity in the Pharmaceutical Biotech, Medical, or Life Sciences sector, is actively seeking an experienced Senior Accountant based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is offered on a 12-month contract basis with the possibility of extension. The monthly compensation ranges between SAR 20,000 and 25,000.
Required Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
- Background in a similar multinational company, preferably within biotech or pharmaceutical industries.
- CPA or related professional qualifications are advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of accepted accounting principles and standards.
- Hands-on experience with financial reporting, tax matters, accounts receivable/credit, accounts payable, and related processes.
- Expertise in integrated enterprise software, especially SAP, alongside proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Role Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and document numerous journal entries, ensuring minimal errors and limited supervisory revisions.
- Confidently discuss and justify financial analyses and data.
- Act as the liaison for external auditors and other stakeholders by providing necessary schedules, responses, and resolving routine queries.
- Collaborate with departments across functions to collect information for accounting analyses and to communicate accounting updates.
- Provide technical guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Oversee or perform accounting sub-functions, preparing detailed financial reports and statistics.
- Coordinate timelines, tasks, and reporting activities in partnership with other departments.
- Develop and uphold operational procedures within the confines of internal controls and company policies.
- Ensure prompt and accurate month-end journal entries supported with proper documentation.
- Maintain, reconcile, and resolve Profit & Loss and balance sheet ledger accounts efficiently.
- Manage reporting for statutory and corporate compliance including VAT, withholding tax, and cash flow forecasting.
- Prepare detailed analyses and schedules for both local management and auditors.
- Frequently engage with internal peers, external customers, auditors, and varied management levels.
- Provide training on accounting software and tools to employees from different departments when necessary.
- Take ownership of accounting processes such as accruals, provisions, allocations, reclassifications, and other related entries.
- Effectively gain cooperation, conduct presentations, and share technical information relevant to financial projects.
- Perform additional analyses on an as-needed basis.
