About the Role
This opportunity is offered by a partner organization seeking a Senior Data Analyst specializing in the fintech sector, preferably based in Germany. The role involves developing advanced analytical capabilities within a rapidly expanding financial technology setting.
You will be responsible for translating intricate financial datasets into dependable insights that aid business strategies, regulatory submissions, and operational enhancements. Collaborating closely with Finance, Accounting, and Data Engineering departments, you will architect scalable reporting mechanisms from inception. This position merges financial knowledge, comprehensive data analysis, automation, and business intelligence to elevate data transparency and operational effectiveness.
You will hold a pivotal position in ensuring data integrity, audit preparedness, and shaping data-centered tactics. Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain financial reporting systems including intricate metric frameworks, conversion funnels, dashboards, and performance reports utilizing BI tools such as Looker, Grafana, or equivalents.
- Extract and analyze financial data from BigQuery to produce actionable business insights comprising profit and loss statements, portfolio assessments, accounting summaries, and executive reporting.
- Automate reporting procedures and external data exports to support audits, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to capture, specify, and translate business needs into robust financial data models and reporting solutions.
- Develop and implement data quality assurance frameworks featuring automated validation, monitoring, and alert systems to guarantee accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
- Build financial forecasting models including lifetime value (LTV), retention rates, profitability metrics, expected losses, and critical KPIs for business planning.
- Conduct advanced financial analytics encompassing anomaly detection and experimentation by leveraging BigQuery, SQL, Python, and other analytical methodologies.
- Partner with Data Engineering teams to optimize data warehouse architectures and improve analytical and reporting workflows.
- Utilize contemporary AI and analytics technologies to advance financial insights, automation capabilities, and decision-making processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience in data analysis, financial analytics, or regulatory reporting within fintech, payments, banking, or related fields.
- Mastery of SQL with expertise in extracting and manipulating complex datasets using BigQuery or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Python programming, including libraries like Pandas and NumPy, for exploratory data analysis, modeling, and sophisticated analytics.
- Extensive experience using business intelligence tools such as Looker, Grafana, Tableau, or Power BI to build executive-level dashboards and reports.
- Strong grasp of financial concepts including profit and loss structures, accounting standards (IFRS), and risk metrics such as Exposure at Default (EAD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA).
- Capability to define technical requirements and collaborate effectively with Data Engineering teams on data warehouse and reporting implementations.
- Analytical thinker with the aptitude to dissect complex datasets, discern trends, and articulate insights clearly.
- Experience in financial compliance, audit processes, or regulatory reporting is highly advantageous.
- Preferred proficiencies include knowledge of crypto payments, custody reconciliation, AML/transaction monitoring analytics, streaming data platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis, and cloud data platforms including Spark, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
- Educational qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or closely related quantitative disciplines are beneficial.
