About the Role
The Senior Internal Auditor will spearhead and conduct risk-focused operational, financial, and compliance audits for the Group's various businesses and departments. The role involves assessing the adequacy and functionality of internal controls linked to key business operations, financial statements, and adherence to regulations. Serving as an essential consultant to senior management, this position aims to enhance the control environment and reduce operational and financial risks across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to creating and implementing the annual audit plan, prioritizing high-risk areas identified through the Group’s risk evaluation framework, covering major operational, financial, and compliance functions across all entities.
- Lead audit projects from initial planning to fieldwork execution, including defining scope, testing controls, and uncovering gaps or inefficiencies in processes.
- Develop comprehensive, evidence-backed audit reports addressed to the Chief Internal Auditor and Audit Committee, clearly articulating findings, root causes, risk impacts, and effective recommendations.
- Conduct audits of complete business processes such as procurement, sales, inventory, treasury, payroll, and human resources to validate proper authorization, execution, and timely reconciliation of transactions.
- Review key accounting and financial reporting procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformity with recognized accounting standards like IFRS.
- Ensure adherence to Group policies, authority delegations, contracts, and entity-specific regulatory requirements.
- Assess the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and core operational processes, aligned with established frameworks such as COSO.
- Monitor for signs of fraud or unauthorized activities across the business units and assist with investigations when necessary.
- Support compliance with local laws and regulations including those related to tax (ZATCA), labor, Saudization, and industry-specific rules, alongside the Group's internal governance policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess 4 to 6 years of experience in internal or external auditing; experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly favored.
- Hold relevant professional certifications like CPA or CIA preferred.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrate well-grounded knowledge in internal audit methods and risk-based auditing per IIA International Standards.
- Understand financial accounting standards, internal control frameworks such as COSO, and financial reporting requirements like IFRS.
- Experience in auditing across diverse industries such as manufacturing, real estate, hospitality, trading, or services considered an advantage.
- Exhibit strong analytical and investigative skills with a willingness to explore deeper when data or explanations are inconsistent.
- Possess excellent communication skills to explain audit results and control deficiencies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.
- Be capable of managing multiple audit assignments simultaneously and delivering reports within deadlines.
- Proficient in English and Arabic languages.
