Overview
Neogen is looking for an experienced sourcing and procurement professional who can support dependable, cost-conscious access to production materials, services, and other supply chain requirements across the United States. This remote role is focused on improving supply continuity, refining purchasing processes, keeping inventory at healthy levels, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, put into practice, and oversee sourcing and purchasing approaches for production inputs, raw materials, utilities, outside services, and other essential supply requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships end to end, including identifying vendors, negotiating terms, assisting with onboarding, tracking performance, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing improvement.
- Track demand, supply availability, lead times, and inventory thresholds to help ensure stock levels stay aligned with production needs.
- Work closely with operations, finance/accounting, quality, logistics, planning, and distribution teams to address supply, inventory, and vendor performance concerns.
- Spot and carry out opportunities to reduce costs, improve processes, and lower supply chain risk across sourcing and inventory activities.
- Keep accurate documentation, records, and reports covering procurement activity, supplier performance, inventory status, process compliance, and related financial matters.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, finance, engineering, or a similar discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience.
- Hands-on experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, materials management, inventory planning, or a comparable area.
- Solid understanding of sourcing methods, cost control, supplier performance, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain risk reduction.
- Ability to analyze information, weigh tradeoffs, spot patterns, and recommend actions that balance cost, quality, service, and inventory goals.
- Strong negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities, with experience working across departments.
- Comfort using procurement, ERP, MRP, inventory, or similar business systems, along with Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity software.
