About the Role

Lead the team at Macpac Te Rapa, a bustling large-format store where adventure and retail excellence meet. As Store Manager, you will oversee a team of over 10 members, driving strong sales performance, managing stock and rostering, and maintaining a visually engaging store all while cultivating a motivated and diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and motivate a retail team of 10+, ensuring a culture of high performance and strong customer service.
• Take full ownership of store KPIs, stock control, rostering, and daily operational results.
• Maintain health and safety standards, store security, and basic financial reporting to support store success.
• Implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance the store’s appeal and customer experience.
• Lead by example to foster a positive, engaging environment and inspire your team.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management with a strong track record of delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to lead diverse teams, motivate staff, and confidently manage varied personalities.
• Skills in training staff, driving sales on the floor, and achieving business results.
• Experience with stock management, health & safety compliance, store security, and basic financial oversight.
• Preference given to candidates with outdoor clothing or equipment retail experience or passion for the outdoors and travel, though not essential.
