Position Overview
The Student Recruiter will execute the strategic plan to attract students to the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). This role involves direct engagement to increase awareness and applications by providing detailed information about academic programs, university services, and career opportunities to targeted groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the recruitment strategy to promote UFV's offerings effectively.
- Engage with secondary schools and community partners to build relationships fostering student interest.
- Organize and deliver presentations and recruitment events aimed at prospective students.
- Provide accurate information on programs, admissions, and student services to potential applicants.
- Transport and set up materials and equipment necessary for recruitment activities.
- Travel extensively beyond regular working hours to meet recruitment goals.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Possession of a valid British Columbia driver’s license.
- At least two years experience in student recruitment, admissions, outreach, or customer engagement, including event management and presentation delivery.
- Exceptional public speaking abilities and polished presentation skills.
- Ability to relate energetically and effectively with secondary students and diverse prospective audiences.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in using computers, including MS Office, PowerPoint, and internet research.
- Knowledge and application of social media platforms for marketing and brand promotion.
- Proactive, self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Sound understanding of UFV’s academic programs, admissions, and registration procedures.
- Aware of social, cultural, and economic contexts affecting education.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality according to applicable privacy regulations.
- Physical capability to handle and move recruitment equipment and displays.
