About the Role
Join a pioneering biotechnology firm focused on food industry safety through innovative real-time PCR kits and detection systems. This role is essential in aligning product supply with customer demand across the EMEA region, driving efficient inventory management, demand forecasting, and operational excellence. You will play a strategic part in optimizing our supply chain processes using data analytics and integrated planning systems, contributing directly to our mission and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, aligning demand forecasts with financial and operational targets to establish consensus plans.
- Manage end-to-end supply chain planning cycles, synchronizing regional and local production with inventory and customer needs using ERP/CRM and integrated tools.
- Utilize strategic data analysis and "what-if" scenarios to optimize financial outcomes and customer experiences, especially during market transitions and exceptional events.
- Develop, analyze, and maintain demand forecasts derived from historical sales, inventory trends, and various predictive methods.
- Continuously monitor and adjust inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstocks while ensuring healthy stock balances.
- Organize and lead S&OP meetings including preparation of data, simulations, coordination with sales and supply chain teams, and documentation of outcomes.
- Oversee regional distribution networks and inventory management, coordinating with logistics providers across multiple transport modes.
- Track and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvements and cost efficiencies in planning, inventory control, and distribution.
- Manage cost-to-serve goals through expense optimization and cash flow enhancements supported by goal setting and cost-benefit evaluations.
- Maintain and improve customer service standards ensuring delivery reliability and key performance indicator success.
- Lead automation and process optimization related to ERP/CRM and planning system integrations, including master data management.
- Identify supply risks such as long lead times or capacity limitations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct root cause analyses for delivery failures and planning inconsistencies.
- Serve as a crucial liaison between commercial teams, customer service, logistics, quality assurance, and production departments.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly advantageous.
- Several years of experience in supply chain planning, particularly in regional or multi-site roles within life sciences or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficient with ERP/CRM and integrated planning technologies.
- Experienced in data visualization and analysis tools such as Power BI for storytelling with data.
- Adaptable and quick learner capable of managing evolving responsibilities and technologies.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities focused on accelerated decision-making and sustainable results.
- Thrives under performance-driven, fast-paced environments.
- Strong communicator capable of collaborating across functions and cultural contexts, including managing third-party logistics relationships.
- Microsoft Office proficient.
- Fluent in German and English, additional European language skills are beneficial.
