Role Overview
The Tour Captain is a full-time position working remotely, responsible for organizing, managing, and leading both virtual and in-person tour experiences. Daily duties involve scheduling tours, confirming reservations, preparing necessary materials, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols. The Captain hosts tours, delivers engaging commentary, addresses guest inquiries, and resolves any issues arising before, during, or after tours. Collaboration with internal teams is essential to refine tour content, boost guest satisfaction, and support marketing efforts. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate documentation, collecting guest feedback, and suggesting enhancements to improve tour quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills to engage various audiences warmly, clearly, and professionally.
- Proven customer service capabilities, including managing guest expectations, addressing challenges, and creating positive experiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to coordinate schedules, logistics, and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Familiarity with remote working technologies such as video conferencing, scheduling tools, and general office software.
- Meticulous attention to safety procedures and guidelines during all tours.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet tour demands.
- Prior experience in tour guidance, hospitality, outdoor activities, or event coordination is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education or certifications in tourism or hospitality are beneficial.
