Role Overview
The Vice President of Global Operations will spearhead all operational activities across an extensive and complex global manufacturing footprint for a leading electrical and infrastructure solutions provider catering to commercial and industrial markets such as Data Centers, Healthcare, and Automotive. This critical leadership position demands a results-driven leader adept at scaling manufacturing environments with a focus on quality, customization, responsiveness, and operational excellence. The incumbent will establish operational infrastructure, processes, and capabilities to support significant growth while ensuring superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the global operations strategy to support a technology-driven, expanding manufacturing business.
- Create comprehensive long-term and annual plans for scalable manufacturing spanning diverse product lines.
- Align operational capacity with commercial targets to fulfill changing customer needs and maintain outstanding service levels.
- Enhance manufacturing capabilities across multiple locations balancing efficiency and tailored customer demands.
- Promote standardization, process improvement, and scalable practices to elevate quality, output, and agility.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams for seamless new product launches and manufacturability improvements.
- Deliver on annual operational targets including safety, quality, timeliness, cost, and inventory metrics.
- Advocate Lean principles and continuous improvement to shorten lead times, heighten productivity, and increase operational agility.
- Deploy KPI-based management tools for data-driven decision-making across functions.
- Develop an agile global supply chain that supports growth, variable demand, and evolving customer requirements.
- Formulate sourcing strategies that ensure supply chain resilience, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Lead integrated planning aligning demand, capacity, inventory, and production enterprise-wide.
- Manage budgets and capital investment aligned with strategic growth plans.
- Drive cost optimization, productivity enhancements, and working capital improvements.
- Oversee capacity planning and capital allocation to support future expansion.
- Build and guide high-achieving global teams promoting accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous development.
- Foster organizational capabilities through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Partner cross-functionally with commercial, engineering, finance, and corporate leadership to ensure operational readiness for growth, launches, and customer commitments.
- Maintain exceptional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards across all operations.
- Support sustainability and corporate responsibility aligned with company values and stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience serving dynamic markets such as data centers, critical power, or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required; MBA is strongly preferred.
- 12 to 15+ years of progressive global manufacturing operations leadership experience.
- Proven capability managing multi-site global operations at $1B+ scale, ideally in data center or electrical infrastructure sectors.
- Expertise in managing complex, high-mix, low-to-medium volume, or customized manufacturing environments.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and profit optimization.
- Deep knowledge of global supply chain, manufacturing operations, and logistics.
- Advanced mastery of Lean methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, TPM, 5S, pull systems, takt time, and standardized work.
- Capability to grow operations balancing customization, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally.
