Internship Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a business research intern, your primary objective will be to discover global business opportunities aligned with Velcord's market interests. This involves conducting thorough market research encompassing:
- International fashion brands, retail companies, and buying houses.
- Brands that could leverage India's Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to increase sourcing.
- Apparel, textile, and home furnishing firms that source products on a global scale.
- Competitor manufacturers, mills, and supply chain structures.
- Emerging fabric trends focused on sustainability and innovation.
- Market reports, import/export statistics, and detailed sourcing insights.
The intern will be tasked with compiling clean, organized databases and succinct research reports aimed at supporting leadership decisions.
Key Projects
- Identify UK and European brands likely to boost Indian sourcing owing to FTAs.
- Spot premium fashion brands utilizing cotton, corduroy, and woven materials.
- Research sourcing managers and buying offices to establish contacts.
- Monitor competitors’ new product launches and textile technologies.
- Generate weekly industry intelligence reports utilizing AI tools.
Internship Details and Eligibility
This part-time internship is located onsite in Thane, India, with the possibility to operate from Mumbai as well. The duration is three months, starting immediately, and candidates must be available for the entire timeframe. Compensation and Benefits
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000. Additional perks include a certificate upon completion, a letter of recommendation, flexible working hours, and an informal dress policy.
