Role Overview

The AI Software Engineer I at ASI works on advancing internal AI-enabled platforms. Under mentorship, you will engage in both front-end and back-end development, assist with tool integration, and enhance your skills by delivering operational software within the internal development environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop user interface components and server-side services consistent with defined architectural guidelines.
• Help scaffold and set up new internal AI tools and prototype systems.
• Support the implementation of features such as authentication processes, API abstraction layers, and access management under supervision.
• Create and maintain documentation for tool operation, setup procedures, and onboarding guidance to facilitate team utilization.
• Engage in peer code reviews to gain feedback and improve software quality standards.
• Utilize contemporary AI development frameworks and large language model APIs as directed.
• Detect and report software defects, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues to senior team members.
• Assist with cloud service deployment activities on platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP under guidance.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience in full-stack software development environments.
• Working knowledge of front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience or familiarity with back-end coding in Node.js, Python, or equivalent programming languages.
• Basic insight into cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Comfortable using Git and version control practises.
• Exposure to AI or machine learning APIs and large language model integration methodologies.

Physical and Work Environment

• Capable of sitting at a computer workstation for extended durations.
• Able to operate office hardware and productivity software continuously.
• Effective communicator using face-to-face, telephonic, and electronic communication methods.
• Willing and able to move through office spaces, labs, data centers, and outdoor field locations as necessary.
