Associate Delivery Manager

Overview

This role is open nationally across locations including East Midlands, East of England, London, North East England, North West England, Scotland, South East England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and the Humber. The position, based within Justice Digital, Data and Science under the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) Digital team, offers a hybrid work model balancing remote duties and time in local offices.

An Associate Delivery Manager will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining digital products that support those who require legal aid, the legal aid providers, and internal LAA staff. The aim is to deliver services that are easy to use, secure, scalable, and cost-effective, built with modern technologies.

Role Purpose

The Associate Delivery Manager works towards becoming an experienced delivery lead, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and driving product improvement for complex projects. Responsibilities include team building, motivation, fostering collaboration, and continuous improvement culture. The role demands proactive risk and dependency management to ensure smooth delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain agile teams, facilitating focus on key priorities and protecting the team environment.
• Plan, forecast, and adapt work schedules in consultation with product managers and team input over the product lifecycle.
• Build trust with leaders, stakeholders, and teams to promote experimental and lean approaches that enhance outcomes.
• Advocate for team health and performance by encouraging constructive feedback and adaptation aligned with team dynamics and operating contexts.
• Engage actively in the delivery community by sharing knowledge and supporting peer networks.

Person Specification and Requirements

• Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies and tools, capable of adapting processes and maintaining resilience.
• Appreciation for positive team dynamics, collaborative working, and providing appropriate feedback.
• Effective communicator who can translate complex information between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capable of identifying, monitoring, escalating, and communicating risks and dependencies to maintain project momentum.
• Skilled in tailoring processes to team needs with a focus on outcomes rather than rigid procedures.
• Must be willing to undergo Security Check clearance.

Benefits and Employment Details

• Grade SEO with a salary range of £49,325 to £53,081 for London locations, and £42,914 to £46,182 for national locations.
