Join a Fortune Global 500 company where innovation meets rewarding culture. The Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding UPS assets, facilities, and equipment while ensuring compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with conveyor system maintenance by identifying effective corrective action for damaged equipment, scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance with mechanics, and updating work status databases.
  • Contribute to facility upkeep by overseeing asset protection, maintenance, housekeeping operations, scheduling repairs, and ensuring equipment and facility conditions meet operational needs.
  • Supervise external contractors and vendors including dispatching, inspecting quality of housekeeping and maintenance work, managing schedules, contract compliance, and payment processes.
  • Support small-scale project management by defining work scopes, estimating costs, submitting documentation for approvals, preparing bid requests, evaluating bids, managing budgets, and monitoring project compliance and schedules.
  • Ensure environmental and safety compliance by assisting with audits, adhering to UPS environmental programs, participating in safety committee meetings, and delivering training to staff concerning regulatory and operational standards.
  • Raise purchase orders for projects through appropriate software, coordinate with accounts for invoice processing, and maintain accurate project documentation including drawings and financial records.
  • Participate in department initiatives by gathering and sharing design information, serving on committees, and documenting processes to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering is preferred.
