About the Company

ADFAC, LLC is a private investment partnership based in Honolulu and Los Angeles. They are seeking a finance leader to support Hawaiian Cool Water, a Honolulu-focused water treatment and equipment leasing company, along with related business ventures.

Role Overview

This position offers the chance to be the main financial partner to ownership, guiding financial operations and strategic planning. The role is part-time, fully remote, and involves active participation in daily accounting and reporting alongside high-level financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the monthly financial close and generate financial reports.
Maintain compliance with GAAP accounting standards.
Create budgets, rolling forecasts, and analyze variances between budget and actuals.
Manage fixed asset accounting and equipment leasing lessor accounting.
Oversee banking relationships and manage cash flow.
Ensure compliance with loan covenants.
Collaborate with external CPA for tax planning.
Coach and develop the Accounting Specialist team member.
Act as the principal financial advisor to company ownership.
Support strategic financial decisions and business planning.

Candidate Qualifications

CPA certification is highly preferred.
Over 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
Experience with Big Four or Big Five public accounting firms is advantageous.
Proven hands-on experience as a controller with strong executive financial judgment.
In-depth knowledge of recurring revenue metrics such as Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), churn, and margins.
Availability during Pacific or Hawaii business hours is required.

Compensation and Engagement Details

Compensation ranges from $150 to $165 per hour.
Long-term engagement as a 1099 independent contractor.
Estimated commitment of 40 to 50 hours each month (9 to 12 hours weekly).
Fully remote work with a flexible schedule.
Training and transition support available from the outgoing CFO/Controller.
