Role Overview
The Construction Project Manager position is a full-time, on-site role based in Yorkton, responsible for managing residential construction projects from initial planning through to completion. Key responsibilities include scheduling, supervising on-site activities, overseeing subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring safety compliance, delivering projects on time and budget, and maintaining quality standards. The manager regularly reviews plans and specifications, coordinates with various stakeholders including clients, inspectors, and trade partners, and handles budgeting, change orders, and documentation such as progress reports and schedules to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Qualifications
- Proven leadership and management experience in residential or related construction projects.
- Competence in construction management tasks like reading blueprints, coordinating trades, maintaining code compliance, site safety, and quality control.
- Strong project coordination skills including scheduling, milestone tracking, document management, and communication facilitation.
- Budget management experience with an ability to control costs and handle change orders effectively.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of building codes, inspection procedures, and sustainable or energy-efficient construction is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to foster strong relationships with clients, trades, and suppliers.
- Familiarity with construction management software and computer office applications; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between job sites.
