RNID is the UK's national charity dedicated to supporting the 18 million individuals who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus. Our mission is to eliminate discrimination faced by these communities, improve hearing capabilities, and fund leading research towards restoring hearing and alleviating tinnitus.

Operating remotely across the UK, we bring together colleagues from various locations and meet a few times a year for staff summits that encourage sharing knowledge and inspiration. Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Lead the management and ongoing improvement of the RNID website.
• Design and develop digital products and services tailored to user and organizational needs.
• Engage with charity stakeholders to coordinate website content and digital solutions.

As a Content Designer within the Marketing and Communications team, you will harness insights and evidence to create user-centered content and experiences for RNID’s digital offerings. Your role involves applying content design principles to help advance the organization’s goals and identifying areas for enhancement.

• Analyze user needs and propose suitable content design strategies.
• Simplify complex information and workflows by presenting appropriate content formats.
• Develop clear content architecture, including structure, layout, and hierarchy to serve users effectively.
• Collaborate with other content specialists to ensure the website fosters meaningful engagement with RNID's cause and communities.
• Champion content design best practices and influence content approaches across the organization.

Candidate Profile

• Confident and mission-driven, with knowledge or eagerness to learn about deaf culture.
• Demonstrated experience in content design or UX writing for websites or digital services.
• Skilled in creating wireframes and prototypes.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, able to work closely with designers, researchers, subject experts, product managers, and developers.
• Experienced in applying content standards and style guides.
• Familiarity with digital accessibility best practices such as WCAG guidelines.
• Understanding user research methods and translating findings into effective design strategies.

Professional experience in content design is required; formal qualifications are not mandatory for this position.

Terms & Conditions

• Permanent contract based in the United Kingdom with fully remote work.
• 35 working hours per week.
• Annual salary range: £40,000 to £46,000.
• Application deadline: 12th August; interviews scheduled for 25th and 26th August.
