About the Company
Higgins is committed to sustaining and enhancing vital infrastructure that connects communities across North Waikato. As part of VINCI Construction, Higgins utilizes both national experience and global resources to deliver outstanding road maintenance and management services.
Role Overview
The role involves leading a critical maintenance contract valued at approximately $25–26 million annually, covering a 1,200-kilometer road network in the North Waikato region, including areas such as Tuakau, Pokeno, Huntly, and Te Kauwhata. Entering its second year in a potential ten-year term, this position offers a leadership opportunity to manage an established contract and influence its strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage contract delivery, ensuring performance standards, profitability, and operational excellence.
- Establish and nurture strong partnerships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
- Steer commercial results by overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for operations, road renewals, and support services.
- Manage governance, reporting, and continuous improvement processes effectively.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated extensive experience managing large-scale road maintenance contracts.
- Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, or related disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of contract and asset management principles applicable to road infrastructure.
- Proven commercial insight, including experience managing budgets, forecasts, and risks.
- Ability to develop trusted relationships with clients, teams, and partners.
- Collaborative leadership approach with excellent communication and decision-making skills.
