Overview
Join our team as a Customer Assistant in Claremorris, County Mayo, where our mission is to consistently deliver an exceptional shopping experience at Lidl. If you bring enthusiasm, a passion for learning, and love engaging with customers, this role offers you the opportunity to earn over €460 weekly based on a standard 30-hour contract.
Typical Day
The role involves working varied shifts throughout the day, with tasks that include stocking, assisting customers, and handling checkout duties. Because the position involves selling alcohol, applicants must be at least 18 years old. Shift options are:
- Morning: Begin at 5 or 6 am to prepare the shop floor, ensuring award-winning products and fresh bakery items are ready by opening.
- Middle: Work starting mid-morning or early afternoon to maintain store cleanliness, product freshness, and assist customers, including operating tills to reduce queue times.
- Late: Start in the afternoon focusing on excellent customer service at tills, replenishing stock, and preparing the store for the upcoming day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers pleasantly, providing friendly and helpful service.
- Adhere strictly to stock loss prevention procedures across the store.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards inside and outside the store.
- Ensure products follow freshness and rotation guidelines.
- Properly manage all store waste.
- Support stock taking procedures as needed.
Required Attributes

- While previous customer service experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory if you demonstrate the right mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
We maintain a competitive and transparent pay structure to ensure fair wages for all roles. Hourly pay starts at €15.40, increasing to €17.90 after three years, with additional rates for unsocial hours, overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays as follows by years of service:
- Year 1: Basic €15.40; Unsocial €19.25; Overtime/Sunday €23.10; Bank Holiday €30.80
- Year 2: Basic €16.20; Unsocial €20.25; Overtime/Sunday €24.30; Bank Holiday €32.40
- Year 3: Basic €16.90; Unsocial €21.13; Overtime/Sunday €25.35; Bank Holiday €33.80
- Year 4: Basic €17.90; Unsocial €22.38; Overtime/Sunday €26.85; Bank Holiday €35.80
