Overview
U-Haul is looking for friendly and motivated individuals who enjoy interacting with people to join as Customer Service Representatives. This role involves being a welcoming face for the company, supporting customers throughout their experience by inspecting and maintaining equipment, assisting with rental processes, and using modern technology for dispatch and returns. The position includes valuable on-the-job learning opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits
At U-Haul, new hires can start immediately and receive payment on the same day. Candidates can participate in a paid hands-on interview. Additionally, there is a $100 hiring bonus and a $300 cash incentive paid upon successful completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the company's certification program offered at retail locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide customer support both inside the store and outdoors, assisting with all U-Haul products and services
- Utilize U-Scan, a smartphone-based technology, to handle rental and inventory management efficiently
- Physically move and connect U-Haul trucks and trailers as required
- Maintain cleanliness and inspect vehicles and equipment, including monitoring fluid levels
- Educate customers about products and respond to their inquiries
- Prepare rental invoices and manage returns of rented equipment
- Install trailer hitches and wiring systems
- Fill propane tanks with certification provided by U-Haul upon employment
- Operate forklifts following certification offered during employment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Engage in continuous training through U-Haul University
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role involves moderate safety risks, including working near machinery, chemical fumes, or irritants, requiring safety gear like masks, goggles, gloves, or shields. Physical demands include periods of standing still, moving around indoors and outdoors, reaching objects at varying heights, and handling equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, sometimes without assistance.
