About the Role
We are seeking a driven and meticulous Cyber Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. This role focuses on safeguarding the organization's systems, applications, data, and networks against emerging cyber threats. You will continuously monitor security events, investigate incidents, evaluate vulnerabilities, and assist with security control implementations to uphold a secure technology environment. Collaboration with IT, software and cloud engineering teams, risk and compliance departments, and business units will be key in enhancing our cybersecurity defenses. Core Responsibilities
- Oversee security alerts, events, and logs leveraging Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
- Analyze and respond promptly to cybersecurity threats, incidents, and suspicious actions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts.
- Continuously monitor security across network, endpoint, cloud, and application layers for potential risks.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls.
- Perform threat intelligence analysis to identify and anticipate new cyber-attack trends.
- Assist with incident response procedures, forensic investigations, root cause analyses, and recovery processes.
- Work closely with IT and engineering teams to enhance infrastructure, cloud, and application security measures.
- Participate in auditing, compliance reviews, and risk management activities.
- Prepare security reports, dashboards, and documentation tailored for executive audiences.
- Promote organizational awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
- Research and recommend evolving cybersecurity technologies, tools, frameworks, and industry trends to support continuous improvement.
Candidate Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, information security, and risk management.
- Experience with security monitoring tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Familiarity with operating systems, networking principles, cloud security protocols, identity and access management, and vulnerability assessment.
- Understanding of incident response, malware analysis, threat hunting, and security operations.
- Experience with platforms like Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, or Palo Alto is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills to engage with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple security events and respond swiftly under pressure.
- High standards of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Preferred educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Industry certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, or SSCP are desirable.
