About Vencora and Covenir Business Unit
Vencora’s Covenir unit serves as a BPO partner for insurance carriers, evolving into a technology-driven company supporting them. The Covenir Platform integrates various modules including Print, Call Center, Virtual Mailroom, and Premium & Lockbox, leveraging an AI-assisted 80/20 development approach where AI manages initial drafts and humans finalize decisions. The Data Analyst role is integral in managing data and reporting that underpin Covenir's business functions, focusing primarily on the Platform but extending to broader data and analytic needs as priorities evolve.
Role Overview and Values
The Data Analyst ensures accurate, reliable analytics and reporting that inform key leadership decisions across Operations, Sales & Marketing, and IT/R&D teams. They embody Covenir’s values by striving beyond plausible reports, continuously improving metrics, treating all departments as collaborators, and delivering clear, comprehensive analyses accessible to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute SQL queries to extract, transform, and report data from various Covenir systems.
- Create and maintain executive-level dashboards displaying critical KPIs such as volumes, postage, and SLA performance across customers and business units.
- Utilize Azure data services including Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Blob Storage to support the platform’s data warehousing.
- Investigate and assess AI solutions, vendors, and partnership possibilities like document-intelligence platforms to guide decisions on building versus partnering.
- Translate business and operational inquiries from multiple teams into precise data requests and reports.
- Apply AI-assisted analysis and workflows consistent with Covenir’s 80/20 methodology.
- Ensure compliance with data retention, security, and SOC regulations relevant to platform data.
Candidate Requirements
- At least two years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence with strong SQL proficiency.
- Familiarity with Azure data services or equivalent cloud data technologies; AWS is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of insurance BPO processes including Print, Call Center, Virtual Mailroom, and Premium & Lockbox.
- Experience in collecting data across diverse business functions and managing data access and security policies.
- Fundamental knowledge of AI/API sandbox environments and associated data workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to build executive dashboards and KPI reports.
- Capabilities in vendor and AI tool evaluation for strategic partnership considerations.
- Skill in creating clear documentation of data analyses understandable by various stakeholders.
- Completion of data security, confidentiality, and SOC compliance training, as well as cross-functional onboarding.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business, or equivalent experience.
Qualities of an Exceptional Performer
- Ability to defend and explain metrics comprehensively.
- Skill in translating ambiguous business questions into structured data queries.
- Keen interest in staying updated with AI tools and vendor landscapes.
- Reliability as the definitive source to reconcile conflicting data among teams.
- Documentation of analytical methodology to ensure transparency and ease of understanding.
Who This Role Suits
- Proficiency in SQL and comfort with end-to-end data management.
- Enjoyment in clarifying vague business questions into actionable data insights.
- Curiosity about AI tools and industry offerings beyond immediate data requirements.
- Confidence in resolving discrepancies when multiple data versions exist.
Who Should Avoid This Role
- Seeking narrowly defined, unambiguous reporting roles.
- Lacking interest in exploring AI tools or vendor evaluations.
- Unwilling to address conflicting data issues.
- Needing consistent, singular sources of requests without variation.
