Overview
We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Research Delivery Team at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of a multidisciplinary group including Research Nurses, Principal Investigators, and other research staff, you will contribute significantly to clinical trials aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
You will support clinical trial set-up and manage patient data collection by reviewing and entering information into both paper and electronic Case Report Forms (CRFs). This role requires flexibility and a capacity to work independently or collaboratively, ensuring precise and comprehensive record-keeping for national and international studies.
Key Duties
- Enter and maintain clinical trial data accurately and promptly in paper and electronic systems.
- Manage patient recruitment databases and develop source data worksheets and patient pathways alongside the research team.
- Maintain tracking systems monitoring patient progress and financial implications of trials.
- Serve as a primary contact for external trial sponsors and units, resolving complex data queries and preparing for site monitoring visits and audits.
- Collaborate with research nurses, clinicians, and supporting departments (medical records, radiology, pathology) to ensure full data capture.
- Communicate sensitively and professionally with patients as required.
- Assist study set-up by reviewing pre-study CRFs, generating data reports, managing clinical image uploads, and coordinating clinical specimen transportation.
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate should have prior clinical experience within healthcare settings and familiarity with medical terminology. A solid understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and clinical trial conduct policies is essential. Strong communication, organizational, and IT skills are also necessary.
