Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer will assist the Head of Electrical in overseeing engineering tasks related to the design, development, coordination, execution, and management of projects. This role ensures that engineering efforts support the company's strategic goals, commitments, and project objectives with a focus on electrical systems within plant and field environments.

Primary Duties

  • Manage and supervise the design of electrical infrastructure including substations, switchgear, transformers, and emergency power solutions.
  • Evaluate single-line diagrams, cable schedules, load lists, and protection coordination studies.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with IEC standards and contractual obligations under EPCC agreements.
  • Assist in coordinating cross-disciplinary engineering activities to align with project goals and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of engineering deliverables, identify gaps, and support corrective actions.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical documents submitted by the EPCC Contractor such as vendor datasheets, drawings, and specifications.
  • Engage in kickoff meetings with subcontractors to establish technical scopes, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Track fabrication progress and support resolution of non-conformance reports or fabrication issues raised by subcontractors.
  • Work with construction teams to assure correct installation of equipment and systems according to engineering specifications.
  • Keep engineering deliverables aligned with commissioning schedules and report any deviations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely engineering inputs needed for successful commissioning.
  • Manage engineering interfaces between departments including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Procurement alongside EPCC contractors.
  • Support interface teams through technical reviews of spare parts, readiness for tie-ins, and resolution of interface issues.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA, and 3D model evaluations and ensure follow-up on action items.
  • Contribute to identification and tracking of engineering risks and maintain updates to the Project Risk Register.
  • Document technical reviews, resolution of non-conformances, inspections, and interface coordination activities.
  • Assist in preparations for audits and engage in post-project lessons learned sessions.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector, or within EPC companies.
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering software and practical implementation skills within process engineering following international standards.
  • Demonstrated project management, leadership, and team coordination capabilities.
  • Experience working on major ammonia and urea projects is preferable.
