Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Finance Business Partner / Cost Accountant for a newly established position. This role involves a hybrid working pattern, requiring presence in the office three days per week in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior management to deliver financial insights guiding both strategic and operational choices.
- Lead the development of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and long-range financial strategies.
- Generate routine management reports featuring clear analysis of financial outcomes, emerging trends, and business drivers.
- Track financial results versus budgets, scrutinize discrepancies, and advise on corrective measures.
- Build and maintain financial models, rolling forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and scenario planning tools to support business plans.
- Develop and upkeep financial dashboards and KPI reports facilitating informed decisions.
- Oversee control of operating costs, discover efficiency enhancements, and back projects enhancing financial results.
- Evaluate cost drivers, profit margins, and performance to pinpoint risks and prospects for enhancement.
- Offer financial analysis and business case evaluations for projects, investment decisions, and capital expenditure propositions.
- Work alongside cross-department teams evaluating commercial opportunities, pricing policies, supplier expenses, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure robust financial controls adhering to internal policies, governance, and audit standards.
- Support monthly closing procedures, financial cycle management, and continual finance process improvements.
- Champion advances in financial systems, reporting automation, and data integrity to boost insight and efficiency.
- Establish strong relationships organization-wide, translating complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
- Contribute financial and commercial insights to strategic planning and senior leadership decisions.
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant or final-stage candidate holding ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial Finance, Management Accounting, Cost Control, or related finance roles.
- Demonstrated competency in preparing budgets, forecasts, management accounts, and financial reports.
- Strong commercial understanding capable of converting financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Proven experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions.
- Advanced skills in financial modelling and analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with financial software systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational capabilities, and stakeholder engagement.
- Detail-oriented with strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines efficiently.
