Role Overview

We are seeking an energetic and practical Flight Test Engineer to advance the testing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) supporting our counter-UAS technologies. This role involves direct involvement in the validation of systems by collaborating across hardware, software, and mission units to plan, execute, and assess UAV test flights, including evaluating their drone interception capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out detailed test plans for UAVs and anti-drone systems.
• Operate drones and associated test apparatus under various conditions including manual, semi-autonomous, and fully autonomous flight modes.
• Fit UAV platforms with payloads, sensors, and both detection and interdiction technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during field tests.
• Perform thorough pre-flight and post-flight evaluations and meticulously record flight data and irregularities.
• Analyze collected data, compile comprehensive test documentation, and suggest system enhancements.
• Maintain rigorous safety and compliance with all relevant regulations during testing operations.
• Participate in demonstration activities for governmental and defense stakeholders.
• Be prepared for occasional travel to remote testing locations and military ranges as necessary.

Candidate Profile

• Background in the military, including service or military-related education, is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience with UAV flight testing is required.
• Possession of a Drone Pilot Certificate or equivalent license is preferred.
• Familiarity with flight control systems is essential.
• Knowledge of RF communications, telemetry, and UAV integration is a plus.
• Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced field test environments.
