Frontend Developer

Role overview

Airtel is hiring a Frontend Developer to build and support high-quality mobile experiences. The role focuses on creating scalable React Native applications while also handling native Android and iOS development when needed.

Core responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications that perform well and deliver a smooth user experience across Android and iOS devices.

• Create modular, reusable, and scalable components and frameworks for mobile apps.
• Contribute to mobile architecture choices, coding practices, and engineering standards.
• Improve app speed, responsiveness, launch time, and memory usage.
• Develop and troubleshoot Android apps using Java or Kotlin.
• Develop and troubleshoot iOS apps using Swift or Objective-C.
• Connect React Native modules with native platform components when required.
• Identify and fix platform-specific bugs, crashes, and performance issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable, production-ready code.
• Take part in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and observability for mobile applications.
• Maintain security, performance, and reliability expectations.
• Work with Product, Design, QA, and Backend teams throughout delivery cycles.
• Join sprint planning, estimation, and execution activities.
• Support and mentor junior developers as part of capability building.

Required experience and skills

This role requires 3 to 5 years of software development experience, with strong practical expertise in React Native and mobile app architecture.

• Hands-on React Native development experience.
• Strong understanding of mobile design patterns and application architecture.
• Solid Android development skills with Java or Kotlin.
• Solid iOS development skills with Swift or Objective-C.
• Experience integrating native modules into React Native applications.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, mobile networking, and asynchronous programming.
• Ability to tune performance, manage memory, and improve app security.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and automated deployments.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting ability.
• Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
• Exposure to unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing tools.
• Understanding of scalable and resilient application design.

Preferred background

• Experience with ReactJS for web development.
• Experience with Java-based backend development.
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of analytics, crash reporting, and observability tools.
• Experience working on large consumer-facing digital products.
