Primary Role Objective

Ensure the safe and punctual handling of cargo, along with loading and unloading of aircraft, adhering to all prescribed requirements.

Core Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo onto aircraft and trucks efficiently.
• Operate various ground support machinery and equipment.
• Repeatedly lift packages weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Sort cargo based on customer, destination airport, and other relevant criteria.
• Communicate package counts and details accurately to Lead Hands and Supervisors.
• Handle customer freight with care and attention to maintain integrity.
• Follow all safety and security procedures strictly.
• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping tasks as necessary.
• Carry out duties related to Dangerous Goods Handling and Acceptance.
• Meet tight deadlines for freight assembly and breakdown within a collaborative team environment.
• Complete specific training modules relevant to the role such as WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, and Hazard Prevention.
• Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Operate daily around aircraft safely and responsibly.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent certification.
• Capability to acquire a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance).
• Capacity to repeatedly lift weights up to 60 pounds.
• Aptitude to work collaboratively in a team-focused setting and achieve shared objectives within tight deadlines.
• Exemplary punctuality and attendance record.
• Rapid learner adaptable to evolving customer demands.
• Receptive to guidance and motivated for further personal and operational development.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends and statutory holidays.
• Consent to background screening; security clearance is mandatory.
• Preparedness to work outdoors as required.
