Role Summary
We are seeking an Interior Designer based in Brisbane or Melbourne to assist with the delivery of pub refresh and refurbishment projects. The role involves developing design concepts, detailed documentation, finish schedules, and low-documentation tender packages. The successful candidate will specify, source, and coordinate furniture, finishes, lighting, and styling elements aligned with brand standards and venue design direction. Support for Project Managers in managing supplier coordination, tender assessment, and defect inspections will also be essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Create innovative design concepts, including mood boards, colour schemes, and custom furniture packages tailored for venue updates.
- Prepare thorough scoping documents, specifications, finishes schedules, and streamlined tender documentation.
- Select and source high-quality furniture, wall and floor finishes, lighting fixtures, and styling accessories that uphold brand aesthetics.
- Conduct venue audits and scoping visits to identify refurbishment opportunities and develop effective design solutions.
- Manage supplier timelines, procurement processes, invoicing, and quotations to assist tender evaluations.
- Coordinate with builders, suppliers, and contractors to ensure adherence to approved design scope and quality standards.
- Participate in site meetings and perform defect inspections post-completion to ensure premium delivery.
- Maintain and contribute to portfolio-wide design standards and styling guidelines, balancing creativity with budget constraints.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing for pubs or comparable hospitality venues with a strong grasp of the sector.
- Proven proficiency in pub industry-specific design with successful venue transformation projects.
- Formal tertiary qualification in Interior Design or a related design field.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Competency in Revit software for design drafting and documentation.
- Possession of a construction industry white card.
- Willingness to travel as part of project requirements.
