Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Web Developer to assist in designing, developing, and maintaining websites and web applications. This role involves partnering closely with senior developers to implement front-end elements, support back-end functionalities, resolve issues, and take part in code reviews. Daily responsibilities include authoring clean, efficient code, testing new features, updating current pages, and collaborating with designers and teammates to deliver user-centric solutions. The position is fully remote, located within the Greater Toronto Area, Canada.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated enthusiasm and foundational capabilities in Web Development encompassing both front-end and back-end basics.
• Competency in programming fundamentals such as Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and familiarity with at least one back-end language or framework.
• Understanding of Web Design principles to produce responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Experience working with version control systems like Git and basic knowledge of debugging and testing methods.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and openness to constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team setting.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related discipline, or comparable hands-on experience.
• Experience using modern web frameworks such as React, Vue, or Node.js and familiarity with fundamental databases is advantageous.
