Role Overview
We are collaborating with a premier research and innovation organization to recruit a Junior or Senior Research Engineer. This role focuses on creating Agentic Intelligence systems tailored for planning, scheduling, and inventory optimization within manufacturing and operational environments. The engineer will develop agent-based AI technologies that unify Large Language Models (LLMs), optimization strategies, and authentic operational data to deliver robust, scalable solutions suitable for production.
Primary Duties
- Develop and refine multi-agent systems addressing challenges in planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Integrate LLMs with advanced optimization techniques to tackle sophisticated real-life problems.
- Architect and enhance semantic reasoning layers, such as intents, constraints, and domain logic.
- Represent operational datasets through knowledge graphs combined with vector search methodologies.
- Create event-driven backend services and APIs that interface seamlessly with enterprise-level software.
- Enhance agent orchestration processes, tool integrations, and operational workflows.
- Establish evaluation metrics, monitoring systems, and protective measures focusing on cost, latency, and reliability.
- Deploy and maintain services using containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes alongside CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with AI and machine learning engineers to transition research innovations into production environments.
- Engage directly with end users, including planners and operators, to ensure the solutions are practical and user-friendly.
- Utilize AI-assisted coding platforms to expedite development and improve code quality.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possesses between 1 to 5 years of experience in delivering production-quality backend systems primarily using Python, C#, FastAPI, or equivalent technologies, with a preference for experience in manufacturing settings involving MES or ERP systems.
- Demonstrates proficiency with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
- Experienced with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems including retrieval, chunking, reranking, and evaluation.
- Familiar with vector database technologies like Pinecone or Qdrant.
- Knowledgeable in event-driven architecture using platforms similar to Kafka.
- Strong background in cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization with Docker, orchestration via Kubernetes, and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
- Exhibits excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator with proven teamwork skills.
